Reports from the Digital Press Tour in Vancouver

The SciFi Channel hosted a press tour of the Battlestar Galactica set last week, allowing 26 internet journalists access to sets and a Q&A session with several cast members. Media Boulevard has video of the BSG panel, which included Michael Hogan (Col. Tigh), Aaron Douglas (”The Chief” Tyrol), Jamie Bamber (Lee “Apollo” Adama), Grace Park (Boomer/Sharon/Athena), and Tahmoh Penikett (”Helo”).

The event spawned some amazing photographs of the set and quite a few spoilers about Season Four. The photo above is courtesy of Keith from TV Squad, who has a very detailed post about the BSG set visit as well as a wonderful close up of the war painting hanging above those couches in Adama’s quarters.

Spoilers, Hints and Clues discovered during the event include:

- Aaron Douglas revealed that the four Cylons revealed in the season finale are different from the other models, they are “Gods” of sorts.

- The Cylon Centurions are not happy with their role in the Cylon world, and at least one episode features a plot centered around them rebelling against their human-form Cylon overlords in much the same way the original Cylon Centurions rebelled against the humans in the first Cylon war.

- In at least one episode of Season Four we will see a room on the Galactica that has a lot of cushions and an Asian rug. Another blogger who saw the same room reported lingerie and a brothel feel, as well as a picture of Baltar, indicating that Giaus’ days of threesomes are not over yet.

- A set is being built for a ship called the Demetrius. The bloggers were told this is a ship within the existing colonial fleet.

- Someone’s going to start the season in the brig, and you can figure out who that someone is from the season finale.

The links above all contain various bloggers perceptions and observations of the event, and taken together you can get a good sense of some of the exciting things to come in Season Four. The event also inspired three great hours of talk radio Sunday night, when ShaunOMac joined forces with the Two Doctors and the Bionic Angels to report details of the event and audio from the press panels.
