Mark Sheppard Talks Battlestar & Firefly

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Thanks to Whedonesque for helping us find this great clip of Mark Sheppard, aka Romo Lampkin, talking about Battlestar Galactica at DragonCon a couple weeks ago. Mark also played Badger on Joss Whedon’s Firefly, and he compares the two series before lapsing into a passionate explanation of how Joss Whedon and Ron Moore, among others, are the “geeks who inherited the Earth.”

Battlestar Galactica’s Alisen Down Stars in Fetish Film

Alisen_Down.jpg

Tricia Helfer is not the only Battlestar Galactica cast member starring in a fetish film this year: BSG guest star Alisen Down will also be in an interesting movie that may be released soon.

Alisen played Caprica resistance fighter Jean Barolay in Battlestar Galactica’s third season, and in the film Control Alt Delete she plays a boss on the search for a “computer rapist.” The film explores internet sex addiction and related fetishes in modern society.

Viper_Statue.jpg

Love the classic Battlestar Galactica vipers? This new limited edition statue can be yours.

Good news for Helo fans: a new forum has been created that is dedicated to Tahmoh Penikett. In other Tahmoh news, he will be appearing in Sacramento at the end of the month as he has graciously agreed to take Jamie Bamber’s place at Sacramento Con.

Very intriguing speculations about Season Four on Boobtube, if you are not spoiler phobic be sure to check out the post entitled “Starbuck is Not a Cylon, She is Jesus.”

The folks over at Libertas are not big fans of BSG’s Season Three ender, particularly the speech Jamie Bamber gave in defense of Baltar.

Weinstein Co. Buys Tricia Helfer’s Dominatrix Movie

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

Tricia_Helfer_Dominatrix_1.jpg

Great news for fans of Battlestar Galactica’s Number Six, Tricia Helfer, who have been anxious to see her performance as a dominatrix in Walk All Over Me: the Weinstein Company bought the movie last week and is already making plans for its distribution.

The distribution deal was made after the film’s strong buzz at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, where Tricia seemed to be everywhere promoting the film. She is doing even more promotion for the film at the Calgary International Film Festival this weekend, this time taking her parents along for the whirlwind. No early reviews are available yet, apparently the film’s Canadian distributor is planning to release it in the next few months and wanted to hush keep reviews undercover until closer to that date.

The trailer for the movie is also popular on YouTube, although it features much more of Leelee Sobieksi than Tricia. It’s being billed as a comedy and a thriller, which is an interesting combination and hopefully one that does not veer too much in the dreaded direction of torture porn.

Walk All Over Me has the potential to be a solid hit simply based on the description of the plot and the costumes, especially once the show hits DVD.

How to Make a Cylon Jack-o-lantern

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Cylon_Jackolantern.jpg

Halloween is on the horizon, and why not have the coolest jack-o-lantern on the block? A Cylon jack-o-lantern is sure to impress, and the Evil Mad Scientist Laboratory has detailed instructions on how to make the cool one above. To see it in action, check out the YouTube clip below. If that one seems too complicated, a more traditional Cylon jack-o-lantern is an option as well.

Battlestar Galactica Fleet Halloween Costume

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Battlestar_Galactica_Halloween_Costume.jpg

Want to channel the fiery defiance of Starbuck this Halloween?

Put on some leather pants and a double tank top, sleek back your hair and put on a six sided fleet dog tag and strut your stuff.

If you are male, or simply have a body more like Aaron Douglas than Grace Park, then there is also a male version with pants that are a little roomier.

Shipper Spoilers for Battlestar Galactica Season 4

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

EJO___MM.jpg

With rare (and mostly short lived) exceptions, most of the characters on Battlestar Galactica experience more of the unrequited part of the phrase unrequited love. The show has more glimpses with potential than actual passion, and this lack of romantic relationships adds to aura of forlorn weariness that surrounds the characters. There is always hope for some happiness, however, which is why many of the most fervent speculations about season four have centered around which characters will have the opportunity to unite before the series ends.

Writer Ron Moore divulged some interesting information about this recently, so click below if you want some spoilers.

Katee_Does_Bionic.jpg

Katee Sackhoff fans who have been waiting to see her play Sarah Corvus on NBC’s Bionic Woman don’t have to wait until the television premiere. NBC has made the entire pilot available early, for free, due to the network’s partnership with Amazon.com and TiVo.

Ryan at WatchingBionicWoman.com has the details on how to see the show, whether or not you have TiVo. I have watched the pilot already, and Katee looks HAWT.

The amazing photo of Katee above originally appeared in TV Guide, and comes to us complements of the BSG blog GalacticaSitRep.

Tricia Helfer at the BAFTA Tea Party

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Tricia_at_BAFTA_Tea_Party_at_Wattles_Mansion.jpg

Battlestar Galactica
glamizon Tricia Helfer looked lovely at Sunday’s afternoon tea at the Wattles Mansion in Beverly Hills. The event was part of the flurry of Emmy parties in Los Angeles this weekend and hosted by BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts).

Other celebrities who sipped tea with Tricia included CSI’s Jorja Fox, Dancing With the Stars‘ Joey Lawrence, and Nip/Tuck’s Joely Richardson. Elaine Stritch, who stole the show during her Emmy presentation moment later that evening, was there as well.

This was Variety’s assessment of the swanky party:

Hosting the affair was Academy of Television Arts & Sciences topper Dick Askin, who on Saturday was at the Wattles Mansion in Hollywood, where ATAS and BAFTA/LA hosted their fifth annual tea party. The palatial, 1907 Mexican Revival manor provided a regal setting for the affair. The valet parking, however, was somewhat less impressive (the Aztec empire could revive in the time it took to get to the place). Eventually, all 400 guests, including Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Elaine Stritch, Saffron Burrows and Nigel Lythgoe, arrived.

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Katee_Sackhoff_EMMY_2.jpg

Battlestar Galactica bad girl Katee Sackhoff played nice Sunday night, and looked pretty amazing, at the TV Guide after party in Hollywood. The party took place at hot spot Les Deux after the EMMY Awards, and was attended by some of the biggest stars of the evening.

During the course of the evening Desperate Housewives‘ Teri Hatcher, House’s Hugh Laurie, rapper Kanye West, and singer John Legend all took the mic for some songs. Other celebrities in attendance included Dancing With the Stars‘ Stacy Kiebler, Scrubs‘ Judy Reyes, Grey’s Anatomy’s Justin Chambers, Sara Ramirez, and Sandra Oh, Lost’s Terry O’Quinn, Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera, and many others.

Hope you had fun Katee, because you looked like the belle of the ball!

Tricia brought her husband, Jonathan Marshall, along to the EW party as well. If you have always been curious about the man who was lucky enough to marry the Canadian supermodel also known as Number Six, click below.

Katee Sackhoff Looked Great at the Emmy After Party

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Katee_Sackhoff_at_the_Emmy_After_Party.jpg

Check out this photo of Katee Sackhoff looking amazing at last night’s TV Guide party after the Emmy Awards. BSG may have gone home empty handed, but this look is definitely a winner for Katee.

We have given Katee a hard time about her fondness for black dresses in the past, but the cut of last night’s small patterned dress was extremely flattering and she looked great. It’s a new style for Katee, who seems to be channeling Veronica Lake with her sophisticated hair and flirty pose. Very impressive Katee!

Battlestar Galactica Wins An Emmy

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

emmy_trophy.jpg

Battlestar Galactica won an Emmy award this year! Not on the big fancy awards broadcast last night, but the week before. The award is for “Visual Effects for a Series” and was presented for work on “Exodus: Part 2,” the episode featuring the rescue from New Caprica.

Head BSG writer Ron Moore and director Felix Alcala were both shut out of last night’s awards, but the visual effects win is a definite step in the right direction.

More on Tricia Helfer in Toronto

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Tricia Helfer Toronto_1.jpg

Tricia_Helfer_Toronto_2.jpg

Tricia Helfer continued to party in Toronto as this week progressed, promoting her new dominatrix movie Walk All Over Me with Leelee Sobieski. These photos were taken as she was arriving at the official Walk All Over Me party on Tuesday night, where one reporter commented on her “gazelle like supermodel gait.”

Tricia looks lovely to us, but this blogger was not impressed with her Walk All Over Me promo shoot, commenting that her alter ego Number Six is “soooo much hotter than she actually is.” Yikes! Oh well, many people seemed to disagree and at least Tricia got some retail therapy in the form of some new Christian Louboutins while she was in town.

Tricia also sampled the star swag, according to on-the-scene reports from SweetSpot:

We need to learn how to pose. When LeeLee Sobieski and Tricia Helfer came into the IT Lounge with Robert Cuffley, Director of their festival flick Walk All Over Me, we were amazed at how instantaneously they could orient themselves for the perfect pic. It also seemed like the only moment the two weren’t laughing. (Their side commentary had us chuckling as well.)

Tricia’s fashion roots had her gravitating towards designs from Espirit, Trove, and The Right Hand Gal, but apparently she and Leelee were kind enough to take a break from shopping to help out Big Brothers Big Sisters.
